CHEROKEE LAKE, TENNESSEE is located 45 minutes north of Knoxville and just 15 minutes off of I-81 near the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood. Cherokee Lake has 30,000 acres of excellent Striper and Hybrid fishing.
The Stripers and Hybrids just about jerk the rod out of your hands! There is also excellent Bass and Crappie fishing. The best part: it does not have the boat traffic of most other lakes. It's beautiful, quiet and peaceful with great fishing!
We fished Cherokee for seven summers in a row before returning home, but can't resist the fishing and the beauty; so we are back, but only for the month of June.
You can also CAST & BLAST! Fish with us and hunt with our friend, Paul Brown at Pigeon Creek Hunting Preserve in Greenville, pigeoncreekhuntingpreserve.com or call 423-638-7250 or 423-737-8551.
Cherokee Lake has Morristown on one side and Jefferson City on the other. All amenities such as Wal-Mart, hotels, restaurants, etc. are available in either and both are 15-20 minutes away from the lake. Panther Creek State Park is centrally located on the lake for your use also. A great Website is CherokeeLakeInfo.com.
Other attractions near Cherokee Lake include Pigeon Forge with it's outlet malls and Country Show Palaces, Dollywood, Gatlinburg("Honeymoon Capital of the World!"), Cades Cove, White Water Rafting, helicopter rides and lots of restaurants. The City of Knoxville is 45 minutes and has a zoo, University of Tennessee and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. East across the Smokey Mountains is Cherokee, North Carolina, Indian Reservation Tours and Harrah's Casino.
